With the possibility of sounding corny, I must admit I find my strength in my children. My girls grew up strong and hardheaded young women. They decided to team up to create their own art company while still in high school. They call it Diverse Unity Studios. They started with decorating old 3D glasses frames and mini hats that use clips or headbands to keep on the head called fascinators. That is just the beginning… The oldest daughter paints, draws, and has several graphic novel ideas she has to find time to write. The youngest writes screenplays, draws, and dances. Together they came up with several ideas. The hats and glasses are found on Etsy and videos where they share their talents are found on YouTube. I can’t wait to see all the written ideas become reality.
I wasn’t able to raise my middle child, my son, due to safety for him because of his father. But I got to know him whenever I saw him throughout the years. I am so thankful that he saw it in his heart to keep in touch with me and allow me to be part of his life. What I learned is he also draws and is a talented musician. He gave me three of his songs he created on the keyboard while he was in high school. (His sisters and I hope to be able to use them in
projects we want to do in the future). My son had a great mother and father who loved him and raised him as their own. I could not thank them enough. With this support, he decided to focus on strengthening his body as well as his mind. He decided to help others do the same. Even though we live in two different states, he reaches out to me about my health and weight. I always appreciate his coaching. He still draws and has his own children drawing too. Can’t ask for better bonding time.
Seeing my children going after their dreams inspired me. Now that my children are grown, I can focus on what I wanted to do. The issue was I didn’t know what I wanted to do. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a singer and a fashion designer. I am well beyond my high school days and I felt a littles lost. Out of nowhere a story popped in my head. I couldn’t help but write it down. I haven’t been able to stop coming up with story ideas since then.
