Perspective welcomes two prominent industry figures

Perspective Financial Group Ltd (Perspective) is pleased to announce the appointment of two well-known figures from the financial services sector.

Sam Ward joins as head of mergers and acquisitions and becomes a major board member, joining chief executive officer Ian Wilkinson, chief financial officer David Hesketh, and chief regulatory officer Julie Hepworth.

Sam is going to stay in charge of the Group’s aggressive acquisitions strategy, which has produced 80 acquisitions in the sixteen years since the Group’s establishment. Sam has spent the last 10 years of his fifteen years in the financial services sector as an M&A consultant. He was a wealth management transaction specialist at Houlihan Lokey in the UK, where he advised Perspective’s shareholders on their most recent transaction with Charlesbank Capital Partners (Charlesbank). He joins Perspective from that position. He started working for EY and holds a chartered accountant designation. Sam said: “Perspective stands out as a leading firm in a congested field. I have always valued their capacity to carry out a well-defined strategy, their enticing offer to both clients and staff and the solid groundwork they have set for further expansion. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Ian, David, Julie, and the rest of the Perspective team as part of the Charlesbank investment process, so I was excited to be given the opportunity to join them at such a significant juncture in the Group’s history. Perspective’s skill, work ethic, modesty, and board unity all contribute to my confidence that they still have many great years ahead of them. Hurst Point Group has hired Martyn Davey as Regional Operations Director. Davey was formerly Head of Advice at Hurst Point Group, where he oversaw over 100 financial advisers. Following his departure from Gallagher in 2020, Martyn served as managing director of Argentis Financial Management, which was acquired by Hurst Point Group.

“I am thrilled to join the Group as it embarks on its next phase of development,” Martyn said. It’s amazing how well the client-centric approach works, and I’m thrilled about the opportunity to support it going forward. Ian Wilkinson, the Chief Executive Officer, greeted Sam and Martyn warmly as new members of the Group. They both have a plethora of expertise that will be very beneficial as we strive to keep being the best client-focused financial planning company for both customers and staff.
